Airdrie 4-H Beef & Sheep Club has the honor of raising the 2022 4-H On Parade Charity Lamb for Cerebral Palsy Kids & Families.
Airdrie has 20 members and 5 clever members. Our club projects consist of market lamb, pen of 3 lamb, breeding projects - ewe lamb, yearling ewe, steer and cow calf.
We chose Cerebral Palsy Kids & Families as our charity recipient. An honorary member of our club, Tyler, has some medical challenges and he is personally impacted by Cerebral Palsy (CP).
CP Kids & Families has provided support and resources to his family for many years. Our club members have been busy attending the Crossfield Farmers Market and the Airdrie Farmers Market promoting:
“KERMIT” the charity lamb,
CP Kids & Families,
4-H,
and our Airdrie 4-H Beef & Sheep Club.
Kermit, all the feed and supplies to raise him have been generously donated by:
BBQ Villa,
Circle V Software,
and Woolliams Farms Ltd.
Tyler and his 3 siblings have raised Kermit. It has been a great opportunity for Tyler to participate in and to fully embrace and succeed with a modified 4-H project - the charity lamb! Kermit also created an opportunity for other families with medical complexities to enjoy a little bit of country life and to love a lamb by having opportunity to visit him. He has also attended our club weigh in day, shearing day, and achievement day.
The funds raised will help provide families living medically complex journeys, the opportunities, and resources that Tyler and his family have benefited so personally and greatly from. As a parent it is a very Big win and an amazing feeling when your child is able to independently do something that other kids can do!
Like getting to ride a bike with their siblings!
